HELPFUL HINTS

1.  When you are ready to purchase materials for your project, some things to keep in mind are:

Do I have positive drainage from my house around my foundation so when it rains, water flows AWAY from my home?  Maybe I should get some pulverized topsoil before I start this project.

2.  I won't be messing with weeds all summer because I put BLACK (not clear) 4 ml thick plastic or weed fabric under my rock to keep the weeds out.  BLACK plastic (not clear) can be found in the paint dept or insulation area at Lowes, Home Depot, or Wal-Mart - NOT in the lawn & garden area.

3.  I need to know how much dirt or rock I need, so I should get some measurements.  I will measure the length x width and depth of my project so I know exactly how much material I need.

4.  When I'm ready to start my project, I will call or text Shelly at 816-824-7645 to schedule a delivery or to set up a time for her to load me.

5.  If I have my material delivered, I'm sure it would be appreciated if I figure out where I want it dumped before she gets to my house.  If I need to move cars out of my driveway or want to lay a tarp down, I'll do that ahead of time.  I'm going to watch for her to get to my house so I can come out and show her exactly where I want it dumped so she doesn't have to climb in and out of the dump truck.  She would probably get sore if she had to do that at every house she went to each day.

A "scoop" is a one cubic yard bobcat bucket.  The loader has a scale on the bucket that weighs the rock within 3% degree of accuracy.

*  1" rock gets about 100 sq ft of coverage at 1 thick layer per ton

*  2" rock gets about 80 sq ft of coverage at 1 thick layer per ton

*  3" rock gets about 60 sq ft of coverage at 1 thick layer per ton

*  Dirt and compost get about 100 sq ft of coverage at 1” thick per cubic yard
